Why Your Income Has Plateaued & How To Fix It

You’re doing everything right. You’re showing up. You’re selling. You’re holding consistent cash months.
BUT no matter what you do, you can’t seem to break past that ceiling.
Hitting an income plateau in your business can feel frustrating. You’re doing “all the things,” showing up, putting in the work… but your income just isn’t moving past a certain point. Maybe you’ve had a few bigger months here and there from a launch or two, but sustaining those numbers month after month still feels just out of reach.
Here’s the truth: this is so common for spiritual business owners at this stage.
And the good news? You’re not doing anything wrong — but there are a few key shifts you’ll likely need to make to move through it.
Let’s break it down.
Plateaus Aren’t Always a Problem
First up, let’s reframe the narrative: plateaus aren’t inherently bad. Sometimes we intentionally create a season of stability in our business to ground into a new income level. There’s value in anchoring into consistency and making a certain revenue range your new normal.
So if that’s where you are right now — take a moment to acknowledge it. Celebrate the fact that you’ve reached this level and been able to sustain it. That in itself is huge.
But if you’re ready to grow and scale beyond it — and it’s feeling more like being stuck than stabilised — then it’s time to look at what’s holding you back.
Here are the three most common reasons your income has plateaued… and what to do about each one.
1. Is It Your Mindset or Energy?
When you’ve normalised $5–10k months, you’ve created safety at that level — and your nervous system is onboard. But to shift into your next level, you have to create the same sense of safety for holding more. More clients, more income.
This is where unconscious stories can start to sneak in:
"More income = more work."
"More clients = more responsibility."
"More money = more stress around taxes or systems."
Even if you consciously want to grow, these beliefs can create resistance. Because the truth is — scaling doesn’t have to mean more effort. But if that’s what your nervous system associates with growth, it’s going to put the brakes on.
So what do you do?
Start by asking yourself:
What stories am I telling myself about what it means to hold more?
What feels unsafe about scaling to the next level?
Then, do the mindset work to rewire those beliefs. Look for evidence that growth can feel easeful. That you’re capable of holding more without burning out. And if a fear is pointing to something practical — like needing more spaciousness or systems — take that as your cue to make aligned changes.
2. Is It Your Sales Funnel?
Next up — sales.
When your income plateaus, it can mean that something in your sales process isn’t converting. And it's not that you're “not selling enough.” If you're showing up and promoting consistently — but the sales still aren’t coming in, there’s likely a breakdown happening somewhere in your funnel.
Most commonly, it’s either:
A visibility issue — you’re not getting your offer in front of enough of the right people
A conversion issue — people are seeing your offer but not saying yes
If it’s visibility:
Are you growing your audience consistently?
Are you getting in front of new dream clients regularly?
Are you repeating your message enough for it to land?
Remember: people need to see your offer multiple times before buying. If you’re only selling once or twice, that’s probably not enough. Prioritise visibility through organic content, collaborations, SEO, or ads.
If it’s conversion:
Is your messaging clearly speaking to your ideal client’s needs and desires?
Does your offer solve a problem they’re willing to pay for — and do they know that?
This is where data becomes your best friend. Look at your metrics and see where people are dropping off. Then tweak your messaging, your offer, or your funnel accordingly.
3. Is It Your Business Model?
If the structure of your business doesn’t support your next level income goals, it doesn't matt what you do – you’re going to keep hitting that same ceiling.
This might look like:
Being maxed out with 1:1 clients with no space for more
Undercharging for high-touch work and burning yourself out
Having a bunch of low-ticket offers that are amazing – but they require a lot of marketing on the front end to make them viable
Or so many offers that none of them have real traction — and you’re constantly context switching
At the end of the day — structure matters. If you want to grow to $15k, $20k or $30k months, you need a model that supports that. Your offers, pricing, and capacity all need to align.
Ask yourself:
What would those next-level months look like practically?
How many clients? At what price point? Through which offers?
How much time do I want to work? And how do I want to feel while doing it?
The Good News? There Is Always A Solution
If you’ve hit a plateau, you’re not alone – and it doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.
These moments are often the gateway to the next level, if you’re willing to dig in, tweak what’s not working, and align your mindset, structure and strategy.
There is a way through this. You don’t have to settle. With the right support and shifts, you can absolutely scale your business in a way that feels expansive and sustainable.
I hope this has given you clarity and confidence around what might be going on for you — and what to do next.
