How To Become More Confident Selling At Your Next Level

Confidence is everything.
Not in a fluffy, feel-good kind of way – in a real, tangible, changes-the-game kind of way. If you lack confidence in your business and your ability to make sales, it's so much harder to create what you actually want. The consistency, the cash flow, the impact.
When you feel confident, you're more likely to show up to market yourself, sell your offers, step outside your comfort zone and back yourself when things feel hard. Literally all the things that matter when it comes to running and growing a spiritual business.
Confidence is also just so magnetic – think about when someone confident walks into a room, people notice. The same goes in business. You become a magnet for your ideal clients.
That doesn't mean you need to feel 100% confident before you take the next step. Honestly, I'm not sure 100% confidence exists. But building your confidence needs to be one of your goals, especially when it comes to selling – because this is the number one thing that will help you create more consistent cash in your business.
So today I want to take you through the three things that will help you become more confident in your ability to sell, to show up and sell at your next level.
1: Confidence Comes From Clarity In Your Sales Strategy And Offer
First and foremost, confidence comes from clarity.
Clarity on your goals, your strategy, your offer and the value you provide.
Start with your goals. If you want to make more sales, what does that number actually look like, and what's your why behind it?
Knowing your why is what anchors you. It's what keeps you moving forward when things feel hard, and there will be moments it does. Get clear on your why so you can come back to it when the self-doubt creeps in.
Once you've got your goal, map out a strategy and a plan to make more sales. When you have a clear plan in place, you're not second-guessing yourself or making decisions on the fly – you have more confidence because it's intentional.
You also need clarity on your offer – what you're selling, who it's for, what problem it solves and why someone should invest in it. If you're fuzzy on any of it, your potential clients will feel it, and so will you, in your body, in how you show up, in the words that come out when you try to talk about what you do.
When you're crystal clear on your offer, when you know it inside out and genuinely believe in it, that conviction comes through. That's what sells.
2: Confidence Comes From Repetition – Getting Your Reps In
Secondly, confidence comes from repetition. You need to get your reps in.
Practice makes confident. The only way you get good at something is to do it, again and again. Getting your reps in creates the evidence you need to trust your selling abilities – tangible proof that you can do it.
Of course, the first time you do anything, you might feel wobbly and unsure. That's normal. Confidence is built through doing, not something you wait to feel before you start.
So ask yourself honestly: where have you been holding yourself back from showing up to sell? What stories have you been telling yourself about needing to wait until everything's perfect – the sales page done, every email written, your content planned out?
After ten years in business, I've heard every version of this fear.
There are collective stories to be wary of too – right now it can feel like there's a lot of doom and gloom about the economy and the cost of living, and that can sneak into how you're thinking about whether people will buy from you.
The reality is people are absolutely still spending money right now, you only have to look online for two minutes to see that.
If you're looking for excuses for why it's hard to sell, you will find them. The economy. The algorithm. The time of year. There will always be a reason, and all it does is feed your fear and doubt.
Instead look for the evidence that will support you to show up and sell.
For example, I've got clients who've had really successful launches recently – $30k launches, $50k launches, a $16k sales week, and another who had her first ever sale of her signature offer this week, after questioning last week whether anyone would buy it. People are still buying.
Taking action through the fear is what builds your confidence – showing up, selling, looking for the evidence that supports you rather than the evidence that hinders you.
Celebrate every win along the way too. Your first sale. Your first $2k month. Your first $5k month. Comparison and self-doubt will kill your confidence faster than almost anything else, so build your bank of evidence and watch your confidence grow as you get your reps in.
3: Confidence Comes From Competence – Building Real Sales Skills
Finally, confidence comes from competence.
This is about your actual sales skills. When you feel like you know what you're doing, you're naturally more confident.
Selling is a skill you can learn, but I'm not talking about being pushy or manipulative, or convincing someone to buy something they don't want or need. That's not the vibe, and it's not what we're here to do.
What I'm talking about is a way of approaching sales that's strategic but also aligned and genuinely of service. Knowing what to say and how to say it, having frameworks so you're not winging it every time, and being strategic about how you're creating opportunities to sell, rather than throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping something sticks.
There's an art and a skill to selling in a way that feels good – you're not trying to convince anyone of anything, you're just creating a clear invitation for the people looking for what you offer. When you get good at that, selling starts to feel a lot less scary and a lot more natural.
Like anything, this comes from practice and a commitment to learning. You get better at selling by selling, and by investing in learning how to do it in a way that works for your business.
Every sales conversation, every offer you make, is a learning opportunity. What worked? What didn't? What would you do differently? There's no failure here, only data and feedback you can use to build your competence, and therefore your confidence.
Clarity, Repetition And Competence
Those are the three things that will support you to become more confident selling at your next level.
Focus on these three and you'll start to feel more confident in no time. I've had clients genuinely surprised by how much they enjoy selling once they start doing this, properly enjoy it, not grit their teeth through it. That's possible for you too.
